what field are you trying to change that gave you that error?
name, e-mail, or gender
are you trying to change the name to an already existing user
or
are you trying to change the email to an already existing email address
what version of vanilla? (looks like 2.1) but you should mention it when posting a question NAG NAG.
I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
Did you import from another platform? You probably have exactly what it says: a non-unique name & email.
