file upload not working

using file upload plugin on forum here:
gamersgomakers.com

admins have rights for upload, members for download

now logged in as admin, using a small 5kb zip or jpg file, it says "uploading..." but nothing happens for long time.

what is wrong here?

or is there any other easy way just to upload a file via ftp and make it available for download to forum members?

    Make sure the /uploads folder is writeable by your PHP process.
