    hi thanks for reply,

yes, i have filled all the text fields in jsconnect settings.
CLIENT ID, SECRET and All URL's.

"Make this conenction your default..." ENABLED

    and "Hash Algorithm" is 'md5'

then, in 'Registration' settings for vanilla :-

    "Connect" is ENABLED

  • Do the client IDs match in both the Vanilla JS Connect settings and the WP Vanilla Connect settings?

  • actually its drupal not WP.
And yes they do match, because when i click on 'test url' in jsconnect plugin settings, it displays user data correctly in JSON format

    Sorry about that! :)

Is the site live somewhere? I would be happy to take a look at it.

actually you don't have vanilla 2.1 installed . you have version 2.3.1 installed.

I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.

  • Something is going wrong. I can't debug it as a standard account.

I got a similar error, but a different client ID. Is this the plugin you are using on the Drupal side? https://www.drupal.org/project/orchid

I believe @Shadowdare‌ has experience integrating Vanilla with Drupal. Perhaps he can provide some insight.

yes, i have changed the Client id to make sure if that was not the problem. new Id is 1169813969 . i also updated drupal settings for this new Id

  • @linc with this new quoting system css, it is really hard to distinguish what is a quote and what is not, and who said what, and even easier for users to indent their own information to make it look like it is part of the quote. Any chance of shading quotes (perhaps a light blue or something).

perhaps that could be a contributing factor to your difficulty (I don't use jsconnect), but I know using alpha versions of software will lead to unpredictable results.

  • ok, something goes wrong. i just disable jsconnect plugin, and try to login to forum, but its giving error:-

    "please try again".

i can register a new user, and use the site. but when i logout and then try to login again, i got the error.
Now, i cannot login even with admin username

Bottom line: use Vanilla 2.1 not 2.3.

  • ok here is what i done, i installed a fresh copy of vanilla available on http://vanillaforums.org/addon/vanilla-core
then configure jsconenct, And BINGO! it worked. now i can login successfully.

But there is a small issue, when user click on 'register' button on forums, an error occurred

i have provided 'register url' in jsconnect settings, but that url is not showing when user click on 'register' button
