Sub category not appearing in discussions

I have created three subcategories in the Finysel category as shown in the snapshot

But when I create a new category the subcategory is not available for selection. What is the reason and how can I add subcategory to newly creating discussions. ...

and category has to have viewing permissions at the very least.

DisplayAs - needs to be default

and not a root category and if you checked custom permissions it has to be viewable for the roles you want.

I have checked like this in the subcategory

I would like to have subcategory selection too besides main category selection what I have to do ?
Like after filling Category second text fill up should appear to fill the subcategory if present.
I can I achieve that ?

I archived subcategory because then only it will refrain from showing in the side panel of the frontpage...

Need better a plugin to arrange main category and subcategory as menu list....any resolve like that ?

Don't bypass me as code ignorant I just changed font background of readable theme now... But here its much deep and I don't want to dive into such mess.
Why don't you people create some features like yahoo answers they have categories and subcategories organized in a proper way....
Here I just don't want subcategories to appear in side panel or when all categories are clicked . I want subcategories to appear only when their parent categories are clicked like this in snapshot......

thats why I archived subcategories to get such style theme.... what I have to do...just tell...

What is the "proper way"? I could imagine there are people who would not like their categories organized like Yahoo answers. If this was the only sane way to do it, it would probably be built into vanilla.

You just can't expect there to be a feature or addon for every specific request. (Of yourse, you could always pay somebody to do it.)

Try searching the addons section of this site yourself, I think what you are looking for is something like:

you can use the hidecategories plugin or the categories accordion or some of the other categories plugins.

don't use archive - I can only tell you 3 times in the previous posts. After that, I can only suggest you read this line 5 x over and then repeat.

could be language issues, but you can always post in your own language, which I assume is not english.

Also, if you don't have time, you can always use the hosted version, very good from what I hear.

Open-source is for people who have time. and managing a forum requires time as well.

All the add-ons are technically approved...just not by god.... afaik
