Reviving the archived UserAgent addon
I want an addon to display the user's user agent and I found an "archived" UserAgent addon in the GitHub repo. I've worked it up to be usable and I want to get my fixed version out in the world.
If I submitted a pull request, can it be "reactivated" and listed in the addons directory? If it's not desired as an official plugin, do I have permission to distribute my own version? There's no license in the file...

What you need to do is release it under a new name and give credit to the original source in the plugin info.
List what you did to fix it is also good.

@JasonBarnabe it is distributed under GPL becuase it is part of the GPL repository. So you are free to distributive a fork under GPL hope that helps. Even if it was under MIT (which is the other licence they use), you can still distribute under GPL, You just can't do the other way round.
grep is your friend.
@JasonBarnabe Anything unmarked license-wise in our repo should be GPLv2. I believe it requires a PHP module (browsecap) that we decided we couldn't rely on being present, so I gave it up. Feel free to fork & maintain it elsewhere.
Thanks!
WIP available here.
User Agent 2.0 has been released.
