The Vanilla Team has decided that the term smatching will heretofore mean "The opposite of patching, as in to make a bug far worse and stupider than it already is." You can thank @Todd for this innovation.

Example: I discovered a way that some user info (userid, name, some date stamps) is leaking in Vanilla. @Tim offered the smatch: add email and password so they leak too.
