Personally I have not known about Vanilla 1 at the time when it existed and I've never seen any visually traces of it here. But last time when I was browsing through the interweb, looking for Vanilla forums in the wild, I found that one: http://prisonvalley.arte.tv/en/forums/
Maybe the last of its kind...

yes and still quite active, some of them!

but then again posting the names of web sites may not be the greatest idea, since it brings it to the attention of unwanted troublemakers

Vanilla 1 was a cool concept, but implementation was not as good as 2.

It was easy to make plugins but they conflicted with one another more.
