Pressing Enter once doesn't End Paragraph, why?

Vanilla v2.1.3, ButtonBar v1.6 and Markdown.
Example:
A. In Textarea:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit.
Aenean commodo ligula eget dolor.
Aenean massa.
B. In Post:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Aenean commodo ligula eget dolor. Aenean massa.
Note: If I hit enter twice, I get the desired result and each sentence is on a new line.
Is it because I use Markdown as InputFormatter?
Suggestions anyone?

yes markdown
or end the line with three spaces.
I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.
If you want to change that, you could wait for vanilla 2.3 which will probably have an option to use soft linebreaks with markdown, or use the plugin posted here in the meantime:

Working, thanks a lot!
I am going to be an old curmudgeon, forgive me.
If you are going to use a markup language, use the STANDARD MARKUP. Markup is designed to be readable as plain text. This is why you need to have two spaces.
That looks like a single paragraph to me.
Changing away from the standard seems innocuous. But you are now using not markdown advertising itself as markdown. Bad times, imo
