Email notification for discussion rather than category?

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible for users to subscribe to a discussion for email notifications rather than a category? I've looked through the settings and the addons page here but can't find anything, but I wasn't sure if I'm missing something obvious?

That's what bookmarks are.
grep is your friend.
Just to clarify what @x00 said, you can bookmark specific discussions by clicking on the star in the upper right hand corner of the discussion page.
Then you can set your notification preferences to email you when there is activity on your bookmarked discussions.
