Problem installing Vanilla 2.1.5

Hi all,
first post on this forum for me! I'm trying to install Vanilla 2.1.5 on my hosting. I have PHP 5.4.32, MySql with pdo_mysql installed (admin panel being phpMyAdmin). All runs smooth until I'm in the /dashboard/setup step, I provide data about the database, its Admin account and Vanilla Forum name/admin credential.

I see the tables being created in the db but after processing the request the page is redirected to the very same for (but without any error message). If I fill the form again, more tables are added to the db but again... I end up in the same form, in a loop!

Any clues?

    Hi Enzo, can the server write to the conf folder? It sounds like a config.php isn't being created.
