Is it possible to apply reactions to only certain categories and not others?

I have a category that requires a reaction option that the other categories don't. I'm wondering the best solution for this.

Can I:

  1. Hide the extra reaction type in all the other categories and only show it in one?
  2. Decide what categories show which reaction types?
  3. Not do any of the above and use another plugin such has the Thankyou plugin for my extra reaction on that category

Just looking for the best way to do this.

    This could be implemented via a plugin.

    Or you could just hide the reactions based on the category ID of the current discussion.

    Not available out of the box though.
