Category Photos not displaying

I apologize if this has been answered, but I tried searching for a solution and become confused.
I've added category photos, and they show up in Chrome but not IE. All I see is an "x" where the photo should be to the left of each category. Any ideas why the category photos aren't displaying?

Seems like they are named jpg although they are PNGs and IE doesn't like that. Chrome is simply more forgiving here...
This is interesting. They show up fine on Fire Fox as well. Extensions don't mean jack, use the mime-type! /rant

IE has a long history of ignoring mime-types over file extensions...
