Can't upload images in admin panel (2.2)

Hiya, I have an issue preventing me from uploading anything in the admin panel. Share image, favicon, category images etc. do not work at all. I can select and click "upload" just fine, and it even says "settings saved" afterwards, but nothing actually gets uploaded.
Uploading avatars works though.
Any ideas?
