"new" comments now showing "new plural"

Hi all,

Just upgraded from 2.1.x.x and posts marked "new" previously are now marked "new plural"?

Using the Bittersweet theme with a couple light CSS modifications.

That's always the first indication your locale is broken. My suggestion:

Make sure under locales you have a folder named en not en-CA. If not, rename it.
Clear your ini files under cache.
Clear any other caching layers you have installed like memcached.

I don't have any locales, but deleting all the .ini files from the cache worked.

Thanks! This still applies for Vanilla 2.3.1. Can it be moved to the 2.3 category?
