Error while using the update utility

Well I followed the instructions to a T. I am using PHP 5.5.9. After backing up my config file and .htaccess and database, I did the update utility, then got a Something went wrong error. Looking at my logs it appears to have run into memory issues:
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes)
Now no matter what I do I just get this screen. My forums are now offline. PLEASE HELP!
