See more button and works while user login

This discussion is related to the Infinite Scroll addon.

Can this module be updated to include "see more button" at the button of the discussion list page so that one can choose to click on the "see more button" to reveal addition list of discussion lists or simple check out the footer of the vanilla forum?

Also can this module be updated to work while user is login?
Can this features be possible?

Thanks for trying out my plugin!

    1. This plugin automatically loads new content once you scroll to the end of the page. A "load more" button could be added if you would like to sponsor it. But I would advise against it, because it requires the user to click, so you might as well just leave traditional pagination.
    2. Yes. If it doesn't work, when you are logged in, check your user preferences. Users can choose to disable it for their accounts, so you may have done that in the past (if not, it is a bug I would like to fix, as it should be enabled for all users by default).

@Bleistivt - yes I will like to see "load more" button at the end of the page when Infinte scroll must have loaded like 2 to 3 times. The reason is to allow visitors and users who want to see the footer information enough time to access the footer instead of having to scroll endlessly to Infinty. This I believe might annoy most users.

@Bleistivt - yes I will like users to have the option to click on "load more" button to load more articles after initial 2 to 3 loading by infinite scroll. This is because some users might want to see the bottom and footer information on the forum.

Then why not just use the standard pagination.

  • @hgtonight - two reasons.
    1. Pagination does not load discussion titles
    2. Pagination buttons are too tiny to be clicked and most users do not even recognize what they are.

I am not sure what you mean by #1. As for #2, use the powers of CSS to embiggen the pager.

If a page scrolls infinitely, as a user I don't expect to find anything of importance in the footer and as an admin, I wouldn't put anything of importance there.

But I have seen some examples where a '"Load more"-click interaction triggers infinite scrolling, e.g. instagram does it.
