Have you read this article http://www.thinkvitamin.com/features/webapps/our-office-2-0-experiment Ryan Carson explain his attempt to drop Office, Dreamweaver, etc... for open source application. Lot of comments from people surprised they used TextWrangler and not Textmate.

ah, just read it. I agree with them for paying for excel. excel 2007 has the most awesome UI ever. never seen anything like it. I run it under parallels and i love it. I have neooffice/openoffice but i hate both of em. MS has said they will license the Ribbon UI, Apple should definelty get it for pages, keynote and numbers. If Adobe adopts the Ribbon UI, photoshop will become the esiet thing to use. well textwrangler is free and textmate is not. Every once a while an app comes along that is so good that ur delighted to throw money at it. Textmate is one of those apps that ends up with a cuult following.
  • I've long used BBEdit. I'm thinking of switching to TextMate; it seems to have a much nicer, more modern interface.
  • If Adobe adopts the Ribbon UI, photoshop will become the esiet thing to use.
    I'll second that.
