The theme used here is slightly custom one.
The search function you see here is the advanced one, not the one available in the free opensource version.

I'm not sure if this plugin is something that I need. The thing is that I use theme that looks like this:
but search results page looks completely different from my main forums. Theme of search page doesn't match with entire forum that I listed above. How can I change that?
Can only assume that the theme you use do not include the search page, by intend/forgot/issue.

It comes from a different path here on this forum.

If I check that path on yourt forum - that .scss is there.

I am not sure of this at all.
Make a backup... before moving on
Preferable clone your forum install to a staging/test site
Delete /dist/ folder
empty /cache/
Is your forum a new install or an upgrade(from which version)?
I did see mentions of 2021.012 while scrolling files

is the lastest released version, have you used/tried that?
Not relased yet, but you can test https://github.com/vanilla/vanilla/releases/tag/2021.021
I tried with cleaning cache and etc but it didn't help me a lot. But fresh installation worked as a charm :D

Yes but after all I went back to 2021.009 since it works better with plugins that I want to use...
