Life got in the way.
Janine was supposed to be replaced by something called Affinity that was more flexible and not quite so hacky. It was also a hell of a lot more work which is why it never got done. Add to that the fact that I stopped using Wordpress on my site and I got tired of developing against such an insanely moving target. I doubt that it will ever see daylight now that Garden is coming.
