this community has always had big names in it... even before vanilla

it's pretty nice walking into a bookstore and seeing the names of people you'd had interesting or fun message board conversations with, printed on the spines of tech or art books

or watching a kick-ass piece of motion work on film or television and saying, "hey, I know that person"
  • It was Basecamp! Dammit, I tought that the vanilla theme looked so familiar, duh!
  • kosmo - stuarts 36degrees theme is meant to be like basecamp, the vanilla default isnt actually based on it but mark has admitted he's followed some fairly strong similarities because he likes basecamp a lot although i think he's tried not to make it too identical.
  • Does eCommerce Specialist at Zones, Inc. work as some sort of big name? ;)
  • I met Tony Hawk at a bar once, him and the Metal Militia. Bought him a Heineken. Saw the "Emeliooooooooo!!!" and had to toss this in there. Cept, mines a true story.
  • I am currently building a site for 'ARD' (Australian Ramp Design) that build all the ramps for the Metal Militia and Crusty Demons (and numerous others). Their office is great and I have seen countless skating and fmx + bmx champions in there. Tony Hawke, Steve Bull, Trevor Ward, Yoki Olson, Seth Enslow (Spelling ?). All these people have come through their office since I have been working on their project. Great stuff. Can be a little Distracting though.
  • I have met Linus Torvalds, does he count as a celebrity?
  • he counts as a celebrity. at least for me anyway!
  • Yeah, I guess asking if someone is a celebrity is pretty stupid, it's depending on people, like I tend to think that Paris Hilton is more of a coat hanger than a celebrity.
