    does anybody use xfire btw? i just installed it today. not sure if im gonna use it all the time just yet but was just wondering if anyone uses it

    Xfire is kind of crap to be honest, it was better in beta and now is just a mess of an application. It's good in theory, but you can't configure the program for crap and the "themes" are just downright terrible even if you do cobble one together yourself. I reinstalled it last week and about 5 minutes after logging in, I unplugged it from the system. It's not pretty.

    but yeah. i dont like installing all these damn progs. im sure ill get sick of it shortly too seen as how i dont have many friends who use it. we just use irc instead plus UT has its own buddy system so theres no need (seen as how all i play is UT anyway :p ) AND i try and close as many progs as possible when im playing as my pooter isnt the greatest :(

    Ehh, it's not even that, but yeah, irc + aim/msn/whatever else is equally as powerful. That and I can actually read the damn interface and it's options instead of having this fugly little duckling of a program that looks like something windows 98 barfed up off in the corner of my monitor. I really wish they would restructure the way in which the application looks. A trillian plugin would be nice as well or something.

    windows 98 eh? that doesnt sound anything like what im using. i know there is a "default" theme that they have that looks like absolute sh1te ('98 style). use the xfire theme - it looks 10 times better. maybe you just havent updated it or something. the one i dl'ed is build 14819 i think

    yeah, that's pretty much what i meant, the "default" theme, the xfire theme looks like shit as well. I like my applications to uniformly blend together, not have this obnoxiously themed window with wrong way facing drawers making my stuff look fugly :)

    I've always been a significant console gamer, but never did get into PC gaming. Partly 'cause I just didn't like FPS and a few other popular genres too much. Due to time issues, I actually play portable games more than anything these days; got a Nintendo DS and a Sony PSP

    So about gamers and gaming, has anyone seen the new Revolution controller yet? I'm pretty excited about it and I'm fairly sure that it will rock way too much for me not to buy it.

    Oh yeah, I've seen it. I'm intrigued by it. After examining it for a while, it made a lot more sense than at first glance. Though given that the fine details of it are still subject to change, I have to wonder if they're going to put a few more face buttons on it, or other gadgets.

    Gadgets like the pad extension for it they are currently planning? Heard from various sources that Nintendo is also planning to make some light guns and such, definedly an advantage that the other consoles don't have, atleast not yet.

    i keep a WoW account active and usually get back into it for a week every month or so. and sometimes i play pac-man on my cell phone

    i was a serious gamer about a year ago - played moh, cs, and a few rts games but then my althon burnt out and i never really got round to replacing it so i was stuck on a slow pc i through together. got a new pc is the makings though so should get back into gaming more... i'll be playing bf2 and hl2 to start with, and really looking forward to aoe3 although i've read that a lot of people are disapointed with the demo.

    True Combat: Elite.... full conversion mod for RTCW Enemy Territroy.... Awesome realism tactical FPS, and the best part, 100% free (the mod and ET). Also play a little ET: Fortress. Another ET full conversion... in case you havent guessed, no, I dont like Enemy Territory, just the mods. I've about had it with the WW2 games. Still have and play Q3A from time to time also.. Normal Q3 and Promode
