Building a vBulletin 3.x to Vanilla 2 importer

I'm taking a crack at the foundation of a vBulletin to Vanilla importer this week. I'm going to use this discussion as a place to throw ideas and questions out as I move along. We're working on a new import method that'll give some better error feedback than this method (and let us create exporters faster). Watch the forum for updates in the next 2 weeks.

A vBulletin importer already exists and is available here with instructions on how to use it: http://vanillaforums.com/blog/help-topics/importing-data/
