How to send emails to all users at once?

From time to time I have to send messages (emails) to my members (students) to inform that something is updated in forum. How to do it?

    Right now you can't without creating a plugin. You'd have to export all the email addresses in your database to a list using an SQL script and send it manually.

    Well, I was looking for something more personal or private, I mean delivering administrative messages informing some event, asking for some private work, deliver of their homework etc. This does not have to be a topic published in the forum, it might be simple notes delivered.
