Vanilla Licence Question

edited February 2011 in Vanilla 2.0 - 2.8
We would like to integrate vanilla forum as a community forum on our startup. During integration we will be connecting our user accounts to vanilla, which means we will need to modify the registration scripts slightly. This version will never be redistributed or for sale. It is only to be used for us and our community.

Can we modify the vanilla forum and still use it on our server ? without it affecting our software licence? or once we modify vanilla our proprietary software needs to be GPL too?

Thank you

You can modify Vanilla to work with your software without your software becoming GPL'd, yes. You simply couldn't bundle Vanilla (or part of it) with your product.

Since I'm not actually part of the company, I shall ping @Mark for good measure.
