Hello,
I have installed Vanilla Forum on a sub-directory, and my main site is in the root.
I have a security addon for my main site, but basically it is checking all files that are on my domain, including Vanilla Forum Files.....And what it tells is - "you have 964 files with insecure permissions" - and all those files are Vanilla Forum files....
Should I do something about it or should I leave it as is?

This would be a good question for whoever supports/works with your security addon.
In general, you only need write permissions to
/cache,/conf/config.php, and/uploads.Search first
