I don't know of any existing plugins that offer this functionality in the profile.
You might check out @vrijvlinder's Galleries plugin which lets any users upload photos to a gallery.
I'll install it and have a good look. That would work just as well.

Sorry, been away from the development scene for a while. I actually created this functionality in another application I wrote for a private company. I still have the code, somewhere, however, and this is a rather highly requested feature. I will work on getting a plugin for you, if I can in the next couple weeks.
