You can create a marquee type slider for each discussion but you first need to use Marqee place it as an allowed HTML so that it can be allowed and then just create a marquee for discussion. Look at the marquee plug-in for guidance
Maybe i'm not very clear with my question here and excuse my English ( It's not my native language). But essentially what i am getting at is similar to this here.

/plugins/ResizedImageLightbox/class.resizedimagelightbox.plugin.phpfile.Change it to your version
requirement(s): Vanilla latest version"
