  • No..the file is there, except that here is no files folder in my install...the path that I have is
    /public_html/getjoy/enjoy/themes/mobile/views/discussions/helper_functions.php

  • what folder is vanilla installed in?

  • go through the instructions again, and see if you missed the step

    that said to delete /themes/mobile/views/discussions/helper_functions.php

You mean step 4 is missing :) How can that be?

    http://vanillaforums.org/docs/installation-upgrade

looks there to me. May be it is invisible unless you have special powers ;)

    4) Delete the files /themes/mobile/views/discussions/helper_functions.php AND /applications/dashboard/views/default.master.php (not default.master.tpl which should also be in that folder)

  • Shucks, It is there .. In the first section.which says -

"To upgrade from 2.0.18 (any patch level)"

So, since I have no idea what a patch is, I went below to -

    "Upgrade your Vanilla Forum 2.0.18.x"

And have been totally focused on that only...

Jeez,.. That is how Noo I am :-)

I will now delete default.master.php as well .. I think that will sort out the user permission problem I am having. ( another thread for that.. )

Thanks for taking the trouble - what is a patch anyways.. ?

its geek speak for version of vanilla 2.0.18.8 and 2.0.18.9 etc.

the .x are essentially different releases of version 2.0.18.x that are changed (patched).
