He is looking for the setting that stops Vanilla to link to “...#latest“

    Danke in voraus

    Add $Configuration['Vanilla']['Comments']['AutoOffset'] = FALSE; to /conf/config.php.

Nope, hgtonight, I have misunderstood the problem. The first comment replaces the body of the discussion in the database!

Welche plugins hast du installiert? Passiert das jedes mal?

  • Komischer weise nicht immer. Was macht "$Configuration['Vanilla']['Comments']['AutoOffset']" ?
    Danke

For the non German speakers: there is an error that overwrites the discussion body with the content of the first comment. It is not known when it happens and to which discussions. The user has some plugins written by himself and my guess is that one of those is the reason for this misbehaviour but if anyone else has experienced something like that (maybe with a fatal combination of two plugins or something like that) he would be glad to get a hint what the reason might be.

If there is any other hint on how to find the error (maybe some log files?) that would be great, too!

  • Vielen Danke.

This is an interesting problem. Is this only in the display step, or does it also overwrite the data stored in the db?

I create a discussion with body "hello world", add a comment "hello comment" and then "hello comment" replaces "hello world" in the db. Unfortunately not always

    I'm a lousy translator...

    Mit der Zeit...

    After a while...

But he uses some selfmade plugins and I guess that's why noone else faced the same problem by now.

@gnem40 Can you check the DB to see if the discussion body is overwritten there?
