Moving forum from shared host to linux

Hello,
I have a forum hosted on crazydomains shared , i've paid my developer to move it to my LINUX VPS server.
He is saying he cannot do it because of different PHP versions , if anyone has done this----could you perhaps let me know if it's a difficult job as my web developer is having a hard time....

Forum is being on subdirectory of domain
It's a funny store - I paid the developer about $100USD to migrate the forum to another server , after a day he says he has copied the files and asks if my web developer can proceed. I got angry , I still am..
You need to pay people who know what they are doing.

ok so the "developer" has moved the files and database onto the new domain/server (subdirectory of a domain).
Can someone please contact me who does this for clients and please provide a price quote. They are saying it requires "tweaks" which they are unfamiliar with.
Payment by paypal , this is urgent. It's been a week since the "developer" copied the files but didn't get the Vanilla forum visible.
Does Vanilla have tech support looking at these forums? Require a paypal invoice.
