I've blogged using Greymatter, Pivot, Wordpress and Loudblog and have to say that I like Wordpress the best. It's far and away the most versatile platform for blogging out there...and can be used as a solid little CMS for small business sites (which I've used it for).
Currently, I'm not blogging anywhere, but am using WP for a few sites I'm producing for my business partner's wife. (And using Vanilla for the forums on those sites ).
awesome nader! it looks nice I see you're running on an older version of wordpress too so I'm guessing you still like it. I've been debating over setting up wordpress 1.5.2 since I cant get 2.0.2 working correctly but dont know yet. I kinda started on building my own blogging portal, and so far its going good. just gonna take forever to get done.
Well I moved over to textpattern. I just couldn't get used to the administration panel of Wordpress after using it for a few months. I know that textpattern doesn't have much or any ajax at all, but who needs it, in terms of blogging? Blogging has been with out ajax for a long time and other than making a blog look cooler with some of it's capabilities it isn't going to change the amount of visitors and such.
Cool you like it Trey! Can I check out your blogging application?
In terms of WP1 or WP2: I have been holding back with upgrading since I've got quite a few plugins and was afraid nothing would work anymore but ... I tried it out on my local machine (didn't wanna break the live site) and nearly all of it (90%) works so i'll be upgrading the live system too in 1-2 weeks.
Personally WP2 doesn't bring me any real advantages and the write interface is not as simple-looking, charming to my eyes as WP1.5 but I think I should just upgrade. I have to do it sooner or later anyway!?
In terms of "forever". I know :-) I've always got new ideas, thoughts and want to write more and more plugins aaaah At the moment I'm working on integrating Vanilla 1, writing a plugin that lists the latest discussions (simple)
Talking about upgrading, thanks to Michael my AvatarUploader now also works in Vanilla 1.
Have you ever thought / tried to use drupal?
I installed it once, played around but couldn't step in easily . I think for my site it would be better but anyway, I'll just have to code more then for tweaking WP2. I want to stick with the software.

so it's becoming more of a brand, ad directory than a normal blog.
