The Japanese Vaios are pretty snazzy:

My vaio is the nicest looking laptop I've ever had. The longer I own it, the more I love it. It's a 15" widescreen screen - which is pretty big, but the machine itself is very light.
My only complaint about it is the battery life, which is incredibly low - and extra batteries are very expensive.
Yeah, i think the 15.4" widescreens are perfect size for laptops - big enough to see stuff but small enough it's still actually a laptop.
It's not incredibly light (though i dont know how light you're talking but i suspect since it's a vaio probably very) - but i carried it round cardiff with it's charger and a few other bits in my bag for half a day and it wasnt that uncomfortable.
Battery tends to last about 2.5 hours under normal use (though it's plugged in the whole time anyway) - extended battery is £100 and lasts about twice as long.
Anyway, back to the macbook!! I'm still not sure if i want one?
Nah I think the 13.3" widescreen on the MacBooks is perfect. 12" is just way too small and 15" is a bit on the big end when it comes to portability. I think the MacBook is the perfect comprimise in size.
Are the MacBook Pros widescreen?
Well what did you expect, it's Sony, I'm actually suprised that the computer didn't cost 5000$ with the justification that it's "some and some supercomputer and the only machine you will ever need" and used non-rechargeable batteries that only Sony made and cost third of the cost of the laptop and only accepted sony brand memorysticks that also cost a shitload. It plays only ATRAC and only other format to use with it are Mini-Discs and Blu-Ray.
cmi, actually that's quite a good thing. I once had a laptop ... for 12 days. It was a dell and was stolen in a break-in, but the thief forgot the power supply and cable, which is a non-standard connector. Like Apple, they have an owner traceable ID#. I reported it stolen with dell. Over the next 6 months on three separate occasions I received mails from dell's customer satisfaction department asking me to rate how good there service had been, although it had not been me who had rang them up. I of course contacted Dell, as well as got the police to contact Dell, but they would not provide details of who had called, and they had provided support. I was insured but the insurance company did not pay out due to a technicality with the locks (not mine but my landlords). Since then I have been laptopless.
End of the story: I would install such a thing and I think there's a similar kind of internet pinger available for windows too.
Because I got vanilla up and running SMOOTHLY at http://www.seahorses.ws/Vanilla, I threw in another $20.00. I would have done more because it is worth more to me that there is this great open source software. Unfortunatly, I'm poor. :) Just though to let you know once again that it is awesome.

I don't want big and bulky, I want small and sexy

Sony sucks, why is that?
