  • *covers Mark's eyes.
  • I would buy the MacBook, but then I would have to buy a catapult too, to hurl mu current PC laptop at innocent bystanders. It's is my town and my laws, no loitering!
  • Macs have problems? who would have thunk it?
  • Favourite thing about my iMac - the cd drive is made by "Matshita" - hahaha
  • You sure it's not Matsushita? Because they've been making cd/dvd drives and other hardware for years now.
  • It's def Matshita. This thread really neads the page numbers on the index page now so you can skip straight to the end...
  • When I enter this thread it skips straight to the end automatically. If I'm signed in it does anyway.
  • Wow i never noticed that.
  • Do you always sign in via the threads then?
  • A lot of the time, yeah, because I log in at home, and am usually signed out by the time I get back tae work again...
  • Why not just click "Last comment"?
  • Erm, I never noticed that either actually. That's 2 things I've learnt today. To be fair the "last comment" link is pretty well hidden.
  • also clicking new: x works i think. marks always 2 steps ahead. has this board never had index links? i cant remember.
  • I learnt something too. I've noticed it acts like a link but never actually clicked it. Awesome!
  • I'd suggest that these links are a wee bit obtuse. Should they be more obvious? Or should we be more observant. I'd suggest most people are even less observant than us... hmm...
  • Well if you're logged in (which most people tend to be, i assume) clicking the whole thread link automatically takes you to where you last read upto...
  • There's a user preference, "Jump to the last read comment when clicking on discussion topic", that controls that. It's enabled by default, so most people probably don't notice.
  • Let's all run wild around the room and wave our arms!
  • I feel I must share my concerns considering black laptops! I got a black HP laptop earlier this year. For the moment I am using it outside and its not too good. Probably nothing of the light is reflected away from it so it keeps getting rather hot. Go for the shining white one (or the metallic). Though, this issue can be reduced by placing a white tshirt over the keyboard.

Thank you to Damon Ramsey for his donation, which brings us to $1275 :)

For the record, I've decided to add on the extra cash to $1650 and upgrade to a Macbook Pro 15" :)
