QR code for Bookmarks and More

edited August 2013 in Tutorials

QR= Quick Response Code

While this technology has been slow to be accepted, seems now everyone is using it to store data such as bookmarks , links contact info personal info . There are generators to make your own and also google generates a QR for you to save a site on a smartphone.

You need an app to read the QR with your phone . It is like a scanner. Here is the one for Vanilla Community Discussions.

If you scan the image with your phone, it will show the info and open a window to that link. Try it out.

So if you want to save a bookmark on your smartphone all you do is click the google QR code generator on your browser and scan the QR code so save. One less thing to have to write down. I was not too sure about this but now I think I like it.

In Mexico you have to have one of these made to contain your tax id number and info and be printed on the invoices you give out. According to them it is to cut down on fraudulent invoices aka money washing, but look at how many generators there are to make any QR with any info !! lol

At any rate I think I will pass along this Forum link in my QR code to share it out there in the untethered mobile world, enjoy...
