I have to upload a zip with google chrome (with linux) on this forum (firefox-linux won't upload because it says you can't upload files of that kind.),
but I can only download a zipped file with firefox-linux. , because chrome does nothing.
however I can upload and download images fine.

ok in the image it shows the thumbnail , in order for it to go into the comment box, you need to click insert image, it does not insert it automatically.
So click insert on the thumbnail and then post and see if it posts. I know this works because I use it all the time. So lets clear things up. I see the image thumbnail in your pic.
What happens when you insert it ?
When you post a comment with the image not inserted does it add the thumbnail to the comment?

The image should appear in a thumbnail if you do not insert it.
have you edited the theme ? if you removed the Foot then the thumbnail may not show.

Yep, it's been edited.. It was the "Slab" theme, but now heavily modified but only via CSS - the foot is intact?

and what browser and os are you using for client?
what is your server OS?
and what version of php are you using.
and once again did you check permissions and ownership on your upload folders. they need to be writeable thumbnails as well.

Apparently it's only Chrome. Tested FireFox - all worked.
