I've updated SnowStorm to have double the snow and use the latest version of the third-party SnowStorm Javascript file which allows GPU acceleration. It's live on this site for a couple days too.

you can change the parameters in class.snowstorm.plugin.php

if you add this to class.snowstorm.plugin.php

snowStorm.snowCharacter = "❄";

and change the snowstorm-min.js

this.flakeHeight=this.flakeWidth=8

to


this.flakeHeight=this.flakeWidth=16

the snowflakes look better.

This worked last year, in 2.1.

Trying this in 2.1.6 and it works, but changes to the colour or the character don't take, so it looks kind of odd (and seems to be taking the default colour of my site rather than just being white...)

I recognise this is trivial, but if anyone else uses this and gets it working, could you let me know, so I can work out what is wrong with my setup?

snowStorm.snowCharacter = "❄";

changing flakeWidth to 16 or 64 or 128.

and change the snowstorm-min.js

this.flakeHeight=this.flakeWidth=8
to
this.flakeHeight=this.flakeWidth=128

maybe you are caching js, or something in your theme is a problem. works with bittersweet.

I can't seem to be able to change the speed of mine... The flakes are coming down too fast that it can't be seen what they are I tried changing the animation interval but no go..

No but I got an idea to create an extension for this plugin which has a snow plow scroll left and move all the pile up of snow at the bottom of the page
