Can't delete private conversations - vanilla 2.1

When I try to delete a private conversation the browser freezes. I tried to deactivate all plugins, to delete the cache, but it did not work.

So you basically delete the conversation and the browser freezes ?

Are you on Windows ? or Mac ?

Try to disable conversations app in the dashboard and then clear all the .ini files from the catch . Re enable conversations and see if that help at all.

I have to reload the site to be able to work again.
It doesn't work. I'm on a mac.

Furthermore I'm not able to delete the logo, or the favicon when I uploaded it once. There the browser freezes too.

This is not normal behavior. Check your permissions on your files. This is the first I hear of this happening with Vanilla.

I know that Mavericks has serious bugs and things freeze for no reason...

Yes I'm using mavericks. File permissions are 644.

then inside conf/config.php 775

ok with 775 I can delete them. How can I change the permissions inside the config? There is no file permission point.
Deleting conversations is still not working.

go to the folder conf, find the config.php file select it and select permissions then make it 775

you can make the whole conf folder 775

Here is a program to troubleshoot your mac and find out what is causing this problem if it is not isolated to this software. Look for page outs.

I tied it now with windows and mozilla and it was the same. If u want you can see yourself.

Please try and use the default theme and tell us if it is the same. Describe or take a screen shot of the error if you can. Make sure you have the correct permissions as admin in the dashboard.

ok, now it works. what can I do about that problem? Its the normal Bootstrap theme.

If it's working on default theme but not with your custom theme, it sounds like the theme has a Javascript bug that needs to be fixed. I'd talk to the theme author.

As an aside: I am 99% sure 644 & 664 would be sufficient.

755 & 775 add "execute" (the +1 bitwise), which is not necessary for PHP to compile because the files themselves are not executing. The PHP compiler itself executes and simply reads/writes the files. Allowing execution across your site is an unnecessary risk.
