@Cruel_Coppinger
In future, if you have a question re: an addon, could you post the question from that addon's page?
Thanks.
sure, sorry I didn't see it listed as a option in the dropdown box when clicking "New Discussion"
Could you move it please?
EDIT : Just checked, its not there.
New Discussion > Ask Question > Category > "Plugins" is not listed
No, you have to go to the plugin page, and click Ask a question from there (bottom right hand side of page)
I don't think I can move it, but @hgtonight is on most days, so I'm sure he will see this.
ok thanks. I'll make sure I do that next time.
Maybe they could patch it in, would save you some hassle and confusion for end user
@Cruel_Coppinger The latest post list module uses the discussion model to get the latest discussions. Announcements count as discussions. The first discussion in that list is an announcement.
@whu606 There was a patch enabling us to do that, not sure if it got into production or we don't have the permission. Perhaps @Adrian can check for us?

@hgtonight, I feel like this is a @linc question...mostly because I am not sure
I'm very new to vanilla, announcement = sticky posts?
The one that I know is not showing up ( and shown in my example screen shots) in new posts sidebar is "The Today Thread" and that's not a announcement. Im not sure if any other threads are affected.
I apologize if I was not being clear.
@hgtonight deploying now. I keep forgetting.

I dont understand.
Look at the time of the latest post in the thread title "The Today Thread" the latest post was at 2:41PM today but it does not show up in the latest posts sidebar plugin.
I have not viewed that post so surely it should appear in the latest posts on the side bar.
See screeny:

Again I apologise if you explanation is getting lost on me because I'm not understanding the terminology used for vanilla. Im used to phpbb3. e.g. posts, threads, stickies etc.
There are 8 normal discussions above it and a crap ton (27!) of announcements (1 of which is timestamped before it). Looking at this page, http://pc-forums.co.uk/discussions, the module is working as expected.

Click on the discussion tab it show "the Today Thread" as lastt updated on the 10th June. Thats isnt the case it has had many posts since then
Thanks for the terminology explanation.
I'll clear all the announcements see if it makes a difference, they must have been sticky posts before on phpbb3 before porting over to vanilla
It made no difference, it still shows when you click on "latest discussions" the last comment is shown as being on the 10th June.
The last comment in that discussion was actually made less than 20 mins ago
@hgtonight, Im not going mad...yet!
I dont thnk you are understanding the problem or, more likely, Im not explaining it well enough.
Go to the site and on the homepage look for "the today thread", it shows the last post as sometime today:
http://puu.sh/im8x7/d686a8f527.png
now click on Latest discussions, it shows the last post for the same thread as on the 10th June:
http://puu.sh/im8zd/ae0b89b441.png
To test I created a new account and posted in "The Today Thread", latest posts did not update to show the new post.
I also posted a test post in the same section as the today thread is in and it did update in the Latest Post sidebar plugin. It appears that this is isolated to the today thread only?
I have cleared the cache on the forums
I have cleared cookie & cache on my browser
The problem persists. But I think you're right, the plugin is functioning as it should so there must be a problem with the database or something as its not updating the time of the latest posts on the today thread when view via clicking "Recent Discussions"
FIXED.
Discussion was marked to sink somehow. I unsunk it. Working as it should now.
That shouldn't make a difference at all from this perspective. I just had never seen that many stickies before!

@hgtonight 4 years of posts and various gaming clans etc soon add up. In fact its more than 4 years we started when PC format magazine shut down their forum.
Main thing is New Posts side bar plugin problem has been resolved now. One for the check list if ever asked again:
"Have you sunk the thread?"
