@digifad - why did you post that link? do you feel that this is an inappropriate use of Vanilla? The Beautiful Lie does display the Vanilla identifying information ...
@Minisweeper - I don't want to take (mis)advantage of Mark's work in any way. If the bloggishness of it is inherently misleading (e.g., 'Vanilla is a forum'), I can always use a CMS plus Vanilla.
I know I am being a moron here but is that what you guys are gently trying to say? Could we get Mark to weigh in directly about this? If he feels it breaks the boundaries of fair Vanilla 'branding', I'm good. I thought this kind of hack is itself a great compliment to his work and within the scope of Vanilla's extraordinary flexibility.
I think you are trying to read between the lines to much here russlipton. I don't think they were trying to say anything about your mod to the software. The comment digifad posted was just a link of Vanilla forums in use. That's what this topic is about, sites that use Vanilla.
Aye roguefoxx is on the money. I dont think anyone here is against your site, it's been pretty heavily discussed and I seem to remember there being a lot of praise flying around
Totally neat! Just one thing, you don't seem to close the logo_title span element. For some reason you don't see the effects in Firefox, but in Opera that causes pretty much everything to get -2.5pt letter spacing, which is kind of annoying ;)
It's been a winding road for us over the years.. UBB.. to PHPBB.. to SimpleMachines.. and now to Vanilla. We've never been happier with the simplicity of building, updates, maintenance and user participation!
