I've been looking forward to this and holding off on some big plans all year, because i've spent weeks with other forum software and still haven't found something suitable. I'd be happy with the feature set of 2.7... 2.8 would be a fantastic bonus, even if it means waiting a bit longer.

Yes, don't release anything while you're on vacation. Do something else, holidays are holidays.

I've moved ahead with planning to release 2.8 in February. Issues have been filed on GitHub.
