Probably the simple answer is when you see a performance hit, don't you think? Also, probably depends on the plugin - whether it reads or writes to a database or simply manipulates some php code… (View Post)2 -

added the auto link plugin. http://vanillaforums.org/addon/autolink-plugin could be modified by you guys to read the tag database and links could be added. @422 basically mimics some of the functions… (View Post)2
