The loader bar simply doesn't disappear. Normally it would be gone in a second or two. If it's just a timeout it's consistent with the live forum but not with my test forum. But as I say the functionality doesn't seem to be impaired, in that people are being approved and the emails are being sent out nonetheless, so I'll probably just live with it and wait for the next Vanilla version and upgrade soon. Thanks for all your help, much appreciated. If I come up with an answer I'll post it here. Maybe it is one of those things that just resolve themselves in time.
It says on my approval registration form: 'reCAPTCHA has not been set up by the site administrator in registration settings. This is required to register.'
But I thought this was only for the Basic application? I'm using the Approval method, so this shouldn't be showing up should it?
How can I get rid of this?
To finish this story off with a happy ending, I finally solved it by somehow managing to export my DB such that it imported fine into both a 2.1 installation and 2.3. I don't regret all the hair-pulling, though, as I learnt a whole lot more about what I'm attempting to do and am much more confident to tackle it now after the big practice run. And very useful to learn how to install Vanilla myself too, rather than via Softaculous. Thanks for your help.
@rasteron Works in Firefox 36.01, Opera 12.12, IE 11, Chrome 41, SeaMonkey 2.32, and Vivaldi 1.0 on Win7.
The title bar and time position indicator at bottom disappear when playing the embedded video when the cursor is removed from the screen area, which may or may not be desirable.
Looks good, thanks.
