Fake Users
How do I remove ALL the data with those fake users that are set up when installing? I want it as if they were never there. No user count, data, posts, etc. I deleted them, but they still show up in my forums statistics...for example, it says I still have 6 users, when it's just me right now....I removed them. -
Re: Plugins repository - suggestions for improvements
Suggestions are great, but code submissions implementing your suggestions are better. Check out the community repo issue list for the current suggestions here: https://github.com/vanilla/community/issues I made a working PR for this, but it requires more polish and love: https://github.com/vanilla/community/issues/6 -
Updated with 6 items and separate settings to show on desktop or mobile
This is a great plugin but we needed two changes - an option to have a menu item that would only show on mobile devices and having one more item (6 in total). Despite not being a programmer I took a stab at this and after a lot of trial and error I got what I wanted. I wanted to offer these changes back to the community… -
Re: PHP 7.4 End Of Life ...... Plans for Vanilla?
A few observations: 8.0 was released nearly 2 years ago. The last public build was more than 3 years ago. A normal PHP upgrade period is 3-6 months after release. The company hasn't uttered a word on compatibility plans (or anything else). If it was simple, it stands to reason it would be done by now. -

Re: Brute force password attack
http://www.lockdown.co.uk/?pg=combi&s=articles By applying 1/sec rate limiting, we've reduced the ability of a brute force to be 1/10,000th the speed of a Class A (slowest) attack on that page. That puts a terrible password of 6 lowercase letters at 9.7 years to brute force. I believe our current safeguard is sufficient. -
Great addon! & some feedback
Love it, very useful addon! Here it is being used: Here's some things to consider for future releases: Uncapitalise "views" To be consistent with "comments". Currently it's "14 View(s) | 6 comments" auto-pluralise "views" when it's >1 Again, to be consistent with "1 comment / 2 comments". As well as currently being… -
Re: Feedback for the Rich Editor
@R_J This issue was discovered internally before the 2.8.dev.6 release which is what is deployed here. It was fixed almost immediately after, but we opted not to fork another release until the final to lower the load on our support team. The fix was merged 15 days ago. https://github.com/vanilla/vanilla/pull/8236 -
