I've been mucking around with virtual machines recently and got a Vanilla setup running on a Ubuntu VM. To cut a long story short, in different location the VM has a different LAN IP and in order to not fall prey to the "localhost cookie bug" I change the IP address in the settings.php file. This seems to work for everything barring Page Manager (it retains the old IP). Although it's not a big problem in my scenario, I would imagine this would also affect people who change their domain name/forum path - so would it be easy to fix SirNot?
Hi,
I've got two questions regarding pagemanager.
the first:
How do I access my custom page if I've disabled the tab? What's the url like?
the second:
After creating a page with some html, if I later come to it and click edit in the html bit it shows nothing except a number 0. Why is this?
Thanks
- Vaz
Hmm, just updated it.
Problem no.2 still seems to be there. Also, on the page the code I'm saving doesnt seem to be appearing.

Can someone help me with the .htaccess settings for the page manager?
Using the line included in the extensions info page, it causes a few issues:
While browsing a page, if you click the "sign in" or "sign out" link at the top right, or the links to who's online on the sidebar, it adds "/page" in front of them, causing them not to work.
I tried to remove the reference to /page/ in the .htaccess and it breaks the site (I know nothing about .htaccess stuff).. can I make it so all page manager pages are just www.mysite.com/pagename/ and not www.mysite.com/page/pagename ?
Thanks..
that's a by-product of the method the page manager uses to display custom pages (which is somewhat archaic in itself, having been converted over from the vanilla0.9.2 version). what happens is basically that it bails out before index.php can add any controls to the page, and consequently preventing subsequent code in init_vanilla.php from executing (such as the call to add the footer). fixing it pretty trivial, when I get around to it I'll add it in.
okay, I am very new to this.
received the same error as listed below but have 0 idea how to change the permissions you are talking about in the response?
I just installed this Page Manager. But I have just got an error message saying "PAGEMANAGER ERROR: An error occured in attempting to save your tabs. Please check that your file permissions are correct and verify that PageManager::CustomPageFile (./extensions/PageMng/CustomPages.php) is a valid file name."
I changed the permission of default.php to 777. But I cant see a file called CustomPages.php.
Could someone help me with this problem?
Thanks.

change the permissions of the folder to 777
It doesn't seem to have permission to create a new file INSIDE the folder
I'm getting an odd bug with Firefox 2 on Mac OS X in the Roles & Permissions section:
When I clear a checkbox for any item but Discussions (here showing a Calendar page in great anticipation), the Discussions box unchecks itself. When I re-check the box, Discussions gets re-checked. I can check/uncheck the Discussions finally without a problem, it's just the deactivation unawares from the other items.
SirNot is around somewhere, he also promised to fix the issue where the "Vanilla is a product of..." statement does not appear on a Page Manager page. *hint, hint! :-)

tough luck
but I'm not sure what could be causing it, mayhaps something (eg. another extension) messing with the js?
