If you are adding a comment to a discussion from 7 years ago where several plugins have been mentioned, you should at least tell us which plugin you are speaking about
Even better would be to start a new discussion by opening the plugins page in the addons section and using the [Ask a Question] button there. That way your question and the answers would be available for others who come here with the same problem as you.

As @Bleistivt said, it uses the same amount of data as manually reading it does. It shouldn't be an issue for a long time.
