Notification clearing?
Most times I visit, I see a discussion I'm involved in has been replied to, so I open it. Then when I'm done, I see the little number next to my name, and need 3 clicks (Lincoln -> Notifications tab ->back home) to clear it even though I know exactly what it is and just want it gone.
I dunno if this is better as an addon or in the base but I just thought I'd bring it up since I think of it every day now.

Does anyone still care about this issue? I agree; I feel like I wish it were easier to clear notifications.
Notifications appear in a popup since 2.1. Once you open the popup, they are marked read.

That is untrue AFAIK. If I come here and view a discussion before I click the link in the notification pop-up, the notification isn't cleared.
If I click on any notification link, all current notifications are cleared.

Yes, visiting the thread doesn't change the notification count.
Only viewing profile/notifications or opening the popup clears them:
