Some bugs in v2.1b2
I tested vanilla v2.1b2 in local server and found some bugs. * If you add a photo to the category (/vanilla/settings/editcategory/*), then it can not be deleted. * If you add a picture in "Share Image" field (/dashboard/settings/banner) it cannot also be deleted. The "404 Page not Found" error appears. * After uploading… -
Vanilla 2.1a test on localhost goes awry
I installed the 2.1a on my local machine to give it a go. Initially everything looked good but then there were issues. -- The first one was this: As you can see all the styling had vanished. This did not happen at first, actually when I reloaded the application after about 5 hours of installing this, I got it. Then, when I… -
Theoretical cost of a Vanilla based iOS app with HTML/CSS/JS wrapped with PhoneGap
Since I'm no programmer, and since a lot of you are, I'm asking this here. I'm outsourcing a project on vWorker, and I've received bids and communicated with some candidates, and I want to get some idea from non-bidders how much this project really would cost to make (they're offering to do it for $1000US). It's a server… -
Re: Need additional Porter support?
Note on personal info in database dumps: You can anonymize emails, IPs etc if you want — I will delete them afterward regardless. Also willing to sign a very narrow NDA for personal information contained in the dump if you'd like to take me up on the actual export file offer but worry I am secretly building a mailing list… -
Re: Coding for NSFW images
You mean preventing people from posting naughty things? Or do you want people to be able to post naughty things, but label them as NSFW so you need to click on a disclaimer or something before seeing them? If it's the former, I think it's a tricky problem to solve without doing some actual moderation. There are probably… -
Re: Questions or Issues for VFonts
A few notes: * Does the license on these fonts permit redistribution? * I like that you include a different style sheet for mobile * Your first if statement will always evaluate to true * The first clause in your second if statement will also always evaluate to true * I like the icon * If it is mobile, both stylesheets… -
Re: This plugin is needed on this forum asap!!
I think if you ask a question - you are starting a discussion. so you "own" that discussion and it relates to your version. me too questions (should usually start another discussion, especially if it is a different vanilla version or at least post their version #) otherwise it is assumed they have the same version as the… -
Re: Addon-Repository ideas?
Yes we do.but there are tweaks in the discussions for some that prevent it. and yes they are "using at their own risk". they use all software at their own risk, it just makes it clear Vanilla is not responsible for checking everyone's plugins. The community is responsible. But if people indiscriminately load plugins… -
Re: Up to date plugin development docs and examples
Thanks, I did look at that repo, but most of the plugins there are developed in a totally different style than what I've seen in the docs. at least all the routing parts. by looking at this post https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/37870/2020-oss-roadmap-plans, I see there are plans to rework this docs. so I'm not… -
Re: Just wondering: why still using Smarty 2.x?
@oliverraduner What happened is that we've stopped using Smarty entirely in new code. It never real caught on anywhere except for in theme master views anyways. We've been using Twig for a while, although I guess we never really document it well. I'm overhauling our dev docs at the moment though, and the Twig documentation…
