    what about "beyond human" when you have to read the book to someone because they won't read the book :).

    well then that would translate to the "god "reaction . When someone seems beyond human they must be a god..dess ;)

    I was thinking how reactions replace actual reactions lol example , the like thing on FB it does not mean like anymore really, it is just a way to acknowledge you read the post without posting anything. It would be great if there was prewritten text instead , like wow that's great ! or very sorry for your loss, people seem to press like even for things that no one likes like the death of a loved one or pet lmao

    sorry I was out and about , it is a Creative Commons free to use and alter and redistribute.

  • phreakphreak Vanilla*APP (White Label) & Vanilla*Skins Shop MVP

    @vrijvlinder: Jep, this one would make a great set, it may be the case that the CC crediting the author, so even when you post it here as a standalone file, you should attach the name of the icon-set, the authors name or link and also the exact CC licence it's using.

    It would be cool for beginners to have a dropdown-list of some sorted icons and a input field to name the reactions of choice. That would be a very user-friendly way, although i understand if that needs a lot of backend work and probably get's a work overload for a first release.

    How could the icons deal with :hover color?

    I guess a spritesheet could be made

    @Tama: Jep, but pre-coloring the hover effect (let's say in blue) will not cover the forum design colors of others. Nevertheless could a light-gray hover effect work for almost everyone (sorry, if the color issue was discussed before).

    cool lots of feedback and two pledges. Seems like this plugin (requirements Vanilla 2.1 and above only) would be valuable to two people.

    I'm in too p , I would like to see more people donate to the cause also. If 10 people can donate $100 it would be nice no?

    @peregrine: Would you be able to create a feature description and approx. time of work so people are able to learn about what they will get and how mich would it need (valuation).

    I can also think of mentioning some users who asked in own threads about reactions, to pick them up again. As said this community is weak on quantity in members, we have to take everyone on the hand.

    @phreak - this is what it will most likely look like

    I'll probably try to tweak the overlay a bit.

    But I think everyone might want to put their own images in there.
    the 4 reactions name titles can be changed in definitions.

    when you hover over pictures or names of people who reacted you see the popup describing the name name of the user in the icon and the type of reaction and when.
    e.g. MrBig reacted funny on June 29, 2013 6:38PM

    A user can click and change a reactions but you can only choose one per comment (i.e funny, wow, scholarly or artistic).

    I may not provide the completed solution you might desire, but I do try to provide honest suggestions to help you solve your issue.

    @peregrine: amazing, can't wait to see it in action. Will every element (DIVs, Ps) contain its own class, so styling will be most flexible for designers?

    The blue ones look very good p , how did you set the little tiny ones on the avatars ? You know @phreak , when you start looking at all the details such as the little pics in the avatars and also that they need to be added when others give the reaction and so on is very complex and involving many steps. I think the value of this is more than what anyone can donate.

    If you want to get a better evaluation, just ask yourself "Can I do This ?" or "Can I learn to do this ?" if the answer is no, then there is your value. If your community like these , there is another value. If people join because they are available (reactions) that is another value.

    Will every element (DIVs, Ps) contain its own class, so styling will be most flexible for designers?

    Don't you like surprises ?

    I'd do it like this (concept code, may be a bit off )

    //HTML
    <img class="reactionAvatar" src="avatar.jpg" /><img class="reactSmall" src="reaction.png"/>

    //CSS

    .reactionAvatar {
        position: relative;
        bottom: 1px;
        z-index: 9928;
    }

    .reactSmall {
        height:5px;
        width: 5px;
        position: relative:
        right: 5px;
        bottom: 14px; /* Approx, really depends on avatar height, but we can assume*/
        z-index: 9929;
        background: #9292; /* Whatever yellow */
    }
